Synchronous chip seal refers to the simultaneous application of asphalt binder and aggregate using a simultaneous chip seal vehicle. This ensures maximum contact between the asphalt binder and aggregate, maximizing their adhesion.
Compared to conventional chip seal, simultaneous chip seal shortens the time interval between binder application and aggregate application, allowing aggregate particles to better integrate with the binder for greater coverage. It also more easily maintains a stable ratio between binder and chip material, improving productivity, reducing machinery requirements, and lowering construction costs.
Asphalt pavements treated with simultaneous chip seal exhibit improved skid resistance and water resistance, effectively addressing issues such as asphalt loss, aggregate spalling, minor cracking, rutting, and subsidence. This technology can be used on both high-grade and ordinary roads.
Synchronous chip seal technology offers exceptional waterproofing, high skid resistance, and excellent performance in treating pavement cracks. Without aggregate loss, it can ensure 7-10 years of road maintenance performance.
Synchronous chip seal coat trucks are used for: under-sealing and top-sealing of highway pavements, construction of wearing course overlays on new and old pavements, layer-laying of asphalt pavements, and separate spreading of asphalt chips in special circumstances.
The time interval between asphalt chips landing at the same location is no more than 1 second, greatly improving their adhesion.
